YASN osmometers are based on high-precision freezing point depression measurement. The instrument determines osmolality by measuring the freezing point change of a solution, helping laboratories achieve accurate and repeatable results.
Routine verification should be done with suitable calibration standards as per the operation manual. Professional calibration or service review is generally recommended every 6 to 12 months, depending on usage, SOP requirements, and regulated-lab expectations.
Sample volume depends on the selected model and application. Martand Medical Services can help confirm the correct YASN model and sample-volume requirement for your laboratory workflow.
Preheating is recommended before measurement so the system reaches a stable operating condition. In many workflows, allowing around 30 minutes before testing helps improve result consistency.
After use, clean the sample area carefully with distilled water and a soft lint-free cloth. Avoid corrosive cleaning agents, keep the instrument dry, and plan periodic maintenance for dependable long-term performance.
Common causes include insufficient sample mixing, residue in the sample area, ambient temperature variation, expired or incorrect standards, or inadequate preheating. If the issue continues, contact Martand Medical Services for support coordination.
